IMPACTxp is a modular asset management software product
that can be configured to meet the needs of users in a
wide range of
industries. Whilst the optional modules provide a high degree of choice for
the end user, the IMPACTxp base module provides a complete solution to the
core requirements of most maintenance systems including:
A
comprehensive asset register
Work order
control
Graphical
labor scheduling
Preventive
maintenance scheduling by date
Forward load
projections
Work order
and plant history with detailed fault analysis
Graphical
cost and management reporting
IMPACTxp was designed from the outset to provide feedback and intelligence
to engineers and plant operators in a focused, proactive manner. The unique
drill down and graphical analysis features built into IMPACTxp as standard
help management to focus on common faults, performance trends, resource
utilization and plant design improvements.
plant register templates
The asset register is the foundation of the IMPACTxp system. It is therefore
critical that this knowledge base of information can reflect the specific
needs of each customer. IMPACTxp asset detail screens are therefore
completely configurable by the end user through the use of IMPACTxp
templates.
Each template can hold an unlimited number of pages of technical
information, tailored to a specific type of equipment item. The user can
design all screen layouts, field names and their properties. It is even
possible to program pop-up choice lists and validate the data entered by
users. As well as the user defined details for each asset, IMPACTxp will
also automatically maintain summaries of:
Down time
Labor and
material costs
Labor hours
spent working on the particular asset
Asset
depreciation
With such flexibility, implementation is very simple and it is possible to
start using IMPACTxp quickly with basic screens for most types of equipment.
If engineers decide they need more information in the future the template
can quickly be changed to meet the new requirements.
work order control
The base module can accommodate all types of work order and an unlimited
number of job types can be defined to cover the following activities:
Breakdowns
Emergency
work
Modifications
Minor
defects
Planned
maintenance
Project work
Safety
inspections
A work order can be raised against a particular asset, in which case all of
the costs incurred will be accumulated against the plant item.
Alternatively, a work order may involve several plant items on a ‘route
sheet’ as in the case of a regular safety inspection, in which case
user-defined parameters will determine how costs are allocated across the
relevant plant items.
Each type of job can be associated with a distinct work order layout that
can be customized to suit site-specific requirements and if optional modules
are installed the work order can include the relevant drawings and
documents. Work orders can be produced using standard IMPACTxp ‘drag and
drop’ work order designer, Crystal Reports or Microsoft Word.
preventive maintenance schedules
The base module provides comprehensive planning and scheduling tools that
accommodate all calendar and date driven maintenance. The IMPACTxp library
job defines the nature of the work and the frequency that it is carried out.
The library job includes:
A
description of the work to be done
Manpower
estimates by craft / trade or employee
Checklist
instructions
Work permits
and procedures to be followed
Kit lists (optional
link with stock management)
Drawings and
Images to be referenced (imaging module)
The scheduling rules used to generate the necessary work orders are
comprehensive and take into account company holidays, shutdowns and the
definition of the working week. Relationships between jobs can also be
established so that for example an annual maintenance job can suppress the
less comprehensive monthly job that would normally be carried out. Library
jobs may also be linked so that the generation of one task can trigger the
activation of several other jobs.
scheduling scarce resources
The base module provides two highly graphical scheduling
tools that make the allocation of work as simple as dropping a work ticket
into a manual planning board slot.
forward load projection
Looks at outstanding work and future PM schedules and represents the
workload in a graphical format by company, craft or employee. When an
overload is identified the planner can simply click on the graph and try a
series of "what if" scenarios with immediate graphical feedback on the
effect of his changes.
master scheduler
A drag and drop planning board that allows work to be allocated on a daily /
hourly basis. Engineers can be booked on and off jobs directly from the
planning board and a traffic light indicator panel will automatically
indicate overloading. The indicators will also take account of planned
material usage if the inventory module has been purchased.
drill-down reporting
IMPACTxp is unique in its proactive feedback and drill down graphical
reporting capability. Summary information in the system can easily be
expanded to show the detailed history and cost transactions allowing quick
answers to questions such as "why are the costs so high?", "who did that
work?" and "what materials did they use?"
More formal management reporting is provided by a wealth of standard reports
each with a multitude of selection criteria, allowing broad overview or
detailed analysis of a particular concern. Graphs are also drill down
enabled allowing the user to simply click on a point of interest and examine
the underlying data. Standard reports provided in the base module include,
backlog monitoring, labor efficiency reporting, cost monitoring, fault
analysis, plant performance and MTBF analysis.
