IMPACTxp has been successfully implemented in a wide variety of industries ranging from paper mills, manufacturing sites and power generation to hospitals, contractors, call centres and luxury hotels. In all cases the core software is the same which means that our support staff can provide quick effective help when required. However the flexibility to meet such a diverse range of needs comes from the modular structure of IMPACTxp and the high degree of user customization that can be introduced. If required completely bespoke routines can be developed to work seamlessly with the core IMPACTxp product.

Whilst the flexibility of IMPACTxp means that streamlined solutions can be introduced to customer sites it does not mean that implementation is a long and protracted process. The proven “Initial Implementation Service” (IIS) followed by our support consultants and engineers ensures that the introduction of IMPACTxp follows a carefully thought out project plan. IMPACTxp stands out from the crowd in the maintenance and facilities management market place with over 70 standard management reports each with multiple selection criteria and filters. Many of these are presented graphically using pie charts, pareto analysis, and bar charts to proactively identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Many of these reports are “drill down enabled” so that the underlying data can quickly be examined by clicking on the relevant part of the chart. In this way management can track back from an overview that identifies a problem through to the individual labor and material transactions and work history records that will reveal the root cause of the issue.

IMPACTxp is a “best of breed” maintenance and facilities management solution that can be configured to work with other best of breed solutions in their own field. Many systems will integrate with IMPACTxp, ranging from manufacturing and ERP systems to space planning and GIS solutions.

IMPACTxp can also fit seamlessly into the corporate IT environment allowing users to work with familiar office applications such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and WordPerfect. The IMPACTxp messaging and email system can even integrate with all MAPI compliant mail systems such as Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Mail and Groupwise. This facility is used extensively in the help desk module, which can automatically read an inbound email message and create the necessary work request without user involvement. The alarm system will ensure such requests do not pass unnoticed and an email is automatically sent back to the requestor, confirming that their request has been logged.

future-proof technology

IMPACTxp is developed using rapid development tools from Progress Software and is supplied as standard with the powerful Progress Relational Database Management System (RDBMS). This is an open database that can run on a wide selection of hardware platforms ranging from a single user Windows PC to Windows NT and UNIX platforms. This gives corporate users a guaranteed growth path as the size of the system increases without the need to convert data. The Progress Database is also very simple to administer and has been shown to have a total cost of ownership that is 70% less than Oracle.

IMPACTxp can also be configured to use a number of alternative databases where corporate standards have to me met. Currently IMPACTxp can work with Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server.
