east meets west in kuala lumpur

Geoff Edwards, Chairman of SoftSols Group made a flying visit to Kuala Lumpur recently, to see for himself the progress being made by SoftSols (Asia/Pacific) Pty Ltd.

Geoff met up with David Gillard, CEO for SoftSols (Asia/Pacific) and Mohd Shihabuddin, Business Development Manager for VTECH, SoftSols' Malaysian based representative, to discuss recent developments and plans for the future. David, who is based in Melbourne, Australia is responsible for developing an effective distribution network for IMPACTxp within the Asia/Pacific region. He says: "Interest is currently being generated within the Asia Pacific region around the capacity of IMPACTxp to integrate to a range of ERP systems, which may well lead to some significant opportunities.

We are also exploring a Property Management System in this region, which is written in Progress. This could well be an extension to our Facilities Management offering, particularly as we already have an interface to Aperture, a space management system."

On his return to the UK, Geoff said: "It's an exciting time for the Asia/Pacific region, with plenty of scope for growth and increasing economic activity. We should look forward to further developments in the near future."
