mfg/pro interface announced
IMPACTxp is a comprehensive maintenance and asset management solution that
incorporates a full inventory, stock and procurement system. Features of the
IMPACTxp inventory system include:
Multiple
companies, stores, locations & currencies
Allocations from
maintenance work orders
Material costs
automatically posted to work orders and plant items
Link with
projected maintenance requirements
Automatic
reorder of stock
Material
requisitions with approval
Purchase order
approvals
MFG/PRO also provides comprehensive material requirement planning, stock and
procurement solutions with the addition of financial ledgers which are not
included in the IMPACTxp product suite.
Therefore when IMPACTxp is implemented
alongside MFG/PRO there are several configuration options available depending on
where the stock and procurement functions are to be carried out.
The IMPACTxp interface to MFG/PRO therefore
provides a number of different routines that can be enabled as required to meet
the customers exact requirements.
Option 1 – IMPACTxp used for all maintenance stores and purchasing
In many cases the management of engineering spare parts and consumables is
completely separate from the procurement of raw materials and corporate
supplies. This option therefore recognizes that
IMPACTxp has been designed specifically
to meet the needs of maintenance engineers and all stock and purchasing is
carried out using IMPACTxp and material
costs are automatically posted to work orders and plant items within
IMPACTxp. The interface however ensures
that all purchase order and goods receipt details are passed from
IMPACTxp to MFG/PRO thus updating the
ledgers and making information available to allow payment of suppliers to be
processed within MFG/PRO.
Option 2 – MFG/PRO used for all stores and purchasing
This scenario recognizes that customers who have implemented MFG/PRO may wish to
control all stock and purchasing through the MFG/PRO suite. The introduction of
an additional stores system for engineering spares is therefore not an option,
yet maintenance engineers require the full history and cost of spare part usage
to be available against work orders and plant items within IIMPACTxp.
This interface option imports material usage details from an MFG/PRO Unplanned
Issue. Details of the items used, quantity and cost are imported from MFG/PRO
and are then allocated to the relevant work order and plant items within
IMPACTxp.
Because stock and purchasing is fully controlled within MFG/PRO the financial
ledgers and payment of suppliers are processed as normal with the standard
MFG/PRO options.
Option 3 – Inventory and Costing Interface to IMPACTxp
(Available Q2 2000)
This option is an enhancement to option 2 and integrates
IMPACTxp to the full planning and
costing capabilities of MFG/PRO. The MFG/PRO system is used as the main stock
and procurement system as in option 2 but is tightly linked with IIMPACTxp
so that spares parts can be requisitioned and then released as part of a fully
planned MFG/PRO work order cycle.
Details of MFG/PRO spares parts and availability are passed to
IMPACTxp so that engineers can refer to
current MFG/PRO spare parts when planning
IMPACTxp maintenance work orders. The
IMPACTxp work order once planned, is then exported to MFG/PRO creating an
MFG/PRO work order that can pass through an MRP process or pass directly to a
purchase requisition. When the MFG/PRO work order is released all of the
appropriate material and labor costs associated with the order are passed back
to the original IMPACTxp work order,
thus updating the appropriate history and cost files. Because stock and
purchasing is fully controlled within MFG/PRO the financial ledgers and payment
of suppliers are processed as normal with the standard MFG/PRO options.
